You're building something bigger than yourself. You didn't come this far to fall short.

You're a builder at heart and always have been. Whether it's building systems, teams, the life you lead or something that didn't exist before; you've done it with conviction.

You've always been ambitious, but it's not really about ambition. You're looking to build something that matters. You feel it solidly in your chest.

But the pressure and overthinking mean your focus is scattered. You feel high when a big decision pays off, but you're up at 2am the next night, anxious the other shoe will drop. Important parts of your life sometimes feel out of balance. Your context keeps changing. The overwhelm of choices leaves you feeling stuck and exhausted.

You don't need someone else's answers or advice. You don't need another thing on your to-do list. You need a space to speak unfiltered, to get past the noise and find what's actually important. You need the rigour to keep you honest with yourself and the accountability to stay on your path.

Through our work together, you'll develop a clearer understanding of yourself — your values, patterns and what's really driving you. You'll make better decisions, faster, because you'll have learned to trust your own thinking. And you'll show up better for the people who matter.

The overwhelm won't disappear, but your relationship with it will change. You'll move through it rather than getting stuck in it. The decisions won't disappear, but we'll shine an honest light on any contradictions or tensions so you can make conscious choices that you own.

You'll build bolder, rooted in a sense of self you can fully trust.

Ambica Jobanputra

Ambica has a unique ability to meet you exactly where you are, and she brings a rare combination of empathy and intellectual rigor. The best coaches don't just give advice, they help you examine the mental models and biases shaping your decisions. Ambica does that exceptionally well. Each conversation will leave you with a new perspective or a stronger sense of direction.

I've been where you are

I built my career in startups. I spent seven years building functions 0 to 1 at Entrepreneurs First. I joined as we raised our Series A and left as we closed our Series D, valued at $1.3bn with a portfolio worth $16bn.

Ambica was such a great colleague and leader at EF. Superb at identifying problems; figuring out what to do about them; building, leading and managing teams to turn plan to reality; and balancing spinning many plates at once; Ambica was a “go to” solver of problems. She combined a rigorous attention to details and “grip”, with an unusually sophisticated ability to see the big picture.

Tom Shinner, COO, Entrepreneurs First

I became known for finding problems before they were obvious, building teams around them and bringing order to chaos without losing the magic. I ran with every problem thrown at me - from sourcing talent for 6 programmes around the world, to building the first data team and insights engine. I grew past what I thought I was capable of. I found my failure point and learnt some of my most important lessons.

By far the most satisfying thing was building high-impact teams and working with exceptional people to do things they didn't imagine.

Throughout, I had different coaches who helped me pause and pushed me to act. I wouldn't have joined EF if it wasn't for one coach. I wouldn't have left to start this practice if it wasn't for another.

Working with Ambica has been an eye-opening and transformative experience. She guided me, with empathy and insight, to identify fears and limiting beliefs that were no longer serving me. She created a space to open up, explore with curiosity not judgement, and adopt new frames of mind that are helping me thrive at work and in my personal life.

Five principles for how we'll work together

Agency over advice.

I have a steadfast belief in your ability to be agentic. This is fundamental to how I see myself and the world. You are not a problem to be fixed. In turn, I have no answers for you. You have everything within you. I'm here to help you unearth, explore and claim what you need to move forward.

Say what I see. No bullshit.

We all have beliefs. We all have stories. Many help us, others limit or delay us. You can trust me to look at reality as it is and say what I see. Even if it turns out I'm wrong, I'll put the words out there and let you correct me, rather than deny you the chance to hear something I'm sensing and actually do something with it.

Verbs not nouns.

We'll avoid thinking of things as fixed; instead we'll see you, your circumstances and your choices as dynamic. Things will evolve as you take action. As much as possible, we'll think of things as verbs, not nouns.

Whole body, whole picture.

Each part of you is filled with proprietary information in the form of emotions. We'll pay attention to what they're telling us. We'll hold them with maturity, explore them with skill and go beyond the labels 'good' or 'bad'. We won't shy away.

Momentum through action.

There is no dress rehearsal for life. Talking will only take you so far. We'll end every session with an action or application, and clear accountability. Your actions will stick because they'll come from 'I want' not 'I should'.

Beyond these principles, we'll design the relationship together in our first session.

Ambica was a guide and support for me during a pivotal moment in my personal and professional life.

She helped me see my situation clearly, move beyond the constraints of who I 'should be' and chart a path forward that satisfied my values and ambitions. Through our work, I now have a toolkit that allows me to reflect and act.

She's a big believer that everyone has a superpower which they can lean into for maximum purpose and performance. Her superpower is enabling others to find and cultivate theirs, and supporting them along that journey.

A bit more about me

I'm a British Indian. I was born to two Indians who found refuge in the UK, having fled their homes in Uganda during the 70s. I grew up in the north of England before moving to London 18 years ago; a city I'm deeply in love with. Like other third-culture kids, I feel I've been given a feast of social norms, rituals, perspectives and values to choose from — plus all of the beautiful confusion that comes with making those choices.

My core value is love. At the centre of my life is family and community. My husband and best friend, Bikram, and my dog, Rafiki, remind me every day that life doesn't have to be so serious and there's always time to roll around in the grass. I'm a woman and a sister. Two words that go to the core of my identity. My brothers and sisters-in-law inspire me every day.

I'm someone who's learnt that the relationship with myself was the most under-invested relationship of my life. I've changed that and I'm forever grateful to those that helped me find myself.

I'm obsessed with invisible operating systems. Cultures, laws, stories, beliefs and social norms. These invisible forces govern our lives. Becoming conscious of mine means I can choose.

I'm a shameless optimist. I've been through challenges, like all of us. Caring for those I love as they navigated chronic depression, experiencing two pregnancy losses and dancing with life's curve balls has taught me to choose optimism.

Ambica at home in her kitchen

I started working with Ambica at the beginning of an exciting (but scary) career transition. She was fundamental in helping me to help myself work out the next steps. I immediately felt like she understood my needs and felt confident in her ability to listen, challenge and guide when necessary. What was most valuable was helping me to see the bigger picture and to stay focused on what was right for me, not just what was easiest. I couldn't recommend her more highly.
